Unique Facilities

American Legion Memorial Stadium and the Grady Cole Center are sports and special events venues located on the campus of Central Piedmont Community College in uptown Charlotte. 

The Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews is a state-of-the-art facility that’s home to the Charlotte Eagles soccer team as well as several organized and recreational amateur sports. Individuals or groups are able to reserve athletic fields throughout the year. 

St. Mary’s Chapel, located within Thompson Park in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood, is a reservable venue that can accommodate 70 guests for weddings, memorial services and other ceremonies. The chapel also includes one dressing room and offers a limited supply of decorations available for rent.
