With extreme high temperatures and heat indices expected Friday through Sunday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg government agencies and partners are highlighting services available to assist vulnerable residents during times of extreme heat. Public Health recommends that residents take extra precautions as heat-related illness can be more severe as the body temperature rises:

 After a nationwide search, AssetMark Financial Holdings Inc., a leading wealth management platform for financial advisors, will invest $10 million to establish an East Coast hub in Charlotte’s central business district, creating 252 new jobs.

Citigroup will invest $16.1 million to establish a major office facility in Charlotte, creating 510 new jobs.

As of July 2, MECK Pre-K has registered more than 1,830 children for next year, a record number since its launch in 2018. MECK Pre-K is Mecklenburg County’s free, high-quality pre-K program for all four-year-olds, available at no cost to families.
